India Russia relationship:

- since 1971 India has maintained cordial relations with Russia despite the pressure from the best.
- now moving swiftly to the strategic relationship with Russia. according to SIPRI(Stockholm international peace and research institute) since 2010 India procures defense equipment from Russia is accounted for 62% of its overall procurement. and for Russia, India is the target importer of its arms and accounts for 32%.
- Russia provides India not only advanced weapons but also provides India high-end technology which other countries do not provide
- USA provides India only non-lethal weapon technology like C-130J Super Hercules, C-13 globe master, P-8I position.
Strategic relation between India-Russia:
Army cooperation: Around 10000 pieces of military hardware are procured from Russia, and similarly, India also procures its military tanks from Russia like
Naval Cooperation: Indias only operational aircraft carrier is a refurbished Soviet-era ship. 4 of its 10 guided missiles destroyer is Russian Kashin class, and six of its 17 frigates are Russian talwar.
Airforce: 667 plane FGA, Sukhoi MIG 21, and MIG 29 all have Russian origin.
Military Cooperation: Brahmos is India's only nuclear supersonic cruise missile produced with Russian cooperation, and its S- 400 anti-ballistic defense system.
Exercise: INDRA started in 2003 and a tri-service exercise was held in 2017.
India-Russia relationship ahead:
the partnership and cooperation which we have with Russia right now indicate that India has maintained its strategic relation with Russia, and the cooperation needs further reinforcement to enable the relationship to be reached at zenith.
